character

Mickey

The Carver who sculpted Darrow into a Gold, tortured by the Jackal and freed—an old sinner desperate to be better.

Story so far

Mickey, the strange Carver who sculpted Darrow from Red into Gold, is among the Sons the Jackal captured and tortured at Attica for Ares's secrets, giving up nothing. Freed by the staged raid, he hobbles into the warehouse half-dead, thin and pale, and kisses Darrow full on the mouth, weeping his thanks. He confesses he tried to warn Darrow to run when Harmony used him on Luna but feared she would kill him, and berates himself as a wicked slaver who sold the girls and boys he carved—yet Darrow embraces him as a friend who wants to be better and live for more.

His devotion to Darrow, however odd, is real, and it steadies him enough to walk out of the office on his own.

Appearance

A frail Carver, thin as a reed and paler than before, hobbling and drained after torture.

Role

Darrow's maker and devoted friend; a tortured Carver seeking redemption.

Relationships

Darrow — His creation and beloved friend, who frees him and affirms his worth.
The Jackal — Who captured and tortured him for Ares's identity.
