Victra

Victra au Julii

The loyal Julii warlord, shot down by her own sister at the feast, who crawls to Darrow swearing she never knew.

Story so far

Victra au Julii attends Darrow's Triumph feast flirtatious and loyal as ever—having brought even her mother and half-sister Antonia into the Augustus fold. But when the Jackal's coup erupts, Antonia betrays them all: she shoots Victra twice in the spine and kills their mother, then directs the slaughter. Bleeding out, Victra drags herself across the stone to Darrow's paralyzed body, leaving a slick of blood, and gasps the truth of her loyalty to the end—'I didn't know, Darrow.

I didn't know.' As Darrow is carried off, her hand slackens on his leg and her clever eyes fall closed, another friend cut down for his war.
