Kavax Au Telemanus

Praetor Kavax

The mountainous thunder lord who forgives Darrow for Pax's death and pledges House Telemanus to his cause.

Story so far

In the hall after the council, Kavax au Telemanus crushes Darrow in a back-cracking embrace, absolving him of blame for Pax's death—'if he was to fall, it is no shame to have fallen in friendship'—and moved that Darrow named his ship for the boy. Warm, booming, and gloriously eccentric, he believes gnomes steal his earwax and pronounces it 'magic' when his fox Sophocles sniffs jelly beans from Darrow's pocket, taking it as a propitious omen of approval. When Darrow asks for help, Kavax pledges House Telemanus outright: 'The Reaper calls, House Telemanus must answer.' His grudge against the Jackal for murdering Pax endures, but his loyalty to Darrow is now total.
