Silo Seventeen’s outer airlock door has stood partly open for decades, leaving only two inner doors between residents and outside air.
When the other silo’s airlock was encountered, a corpse was caught between the partly open outer doors. Inside lay charred bones and ash from people caught in its cleansing fire. The inner door remained sealed, with a thick glass porthole, dry seals, and a large locking wheel; a bench hung from two chains against the back wall. Toxic air had corroded a pipe’s connection to the vent.
The outer door has remained partly open since the silo fell decades earlier. Only the inner airlock door and the sheriff’s office door now separate the residents from the outside air.
Partly open outer doors lead to an airlock containing charred remains, a chain-supported wall bench, and a corroded vent connection. The inner door has a thick glass porthole and a large locking wheel.
A damaged boundary between Silo Seventeen and the outside, dependent on its inner door and the sheriff’s office door.
