Story so far
Nearing the end of his seventh shift, with three remaining, Brevard hoped for an uneventful finish. Instead, a bloodstained cryopod led him to suspect murder. He initially kept the Shepherd out of the investigation, then reconsidered after Darcy's useful deductions and his own theory that a man from Deep Freeze had attacked an administrator, assumed his identity and access, and awakened women. Brevard identified the Shepherd's name as Paul Thurman.
Brevard has been security chief for almost all of Donald's current waking shift. After the later attack, he ordered Donald's ceiling panels checked and suspected Donald knew something. Darcy resents Brevard's assignments to collect samples, clean blood, and fetch coffee; on discovering hidden folders and a bedroll, Darcy considers bringing Brevard to see them.
