Kukri Knife

the Kukri knife · Jonathan's Kukri · the great Kukri knife

Jonathan's broad kukri nearly reaches Dracula at Piccadilly and finally shears through the vampire's throat at the last edge of sunset.

Story so far

Jonathan Harker arms himself with a great kukri knife during the campaign. At Piccadilly House he slashes at Count Dracula's heart, missing by a hair but cutting the coat and spilling the Count's gold.

Jonathan carries and sharpens the blade throughout the eastern pursuit. Below Castle Dracula, he uses it to pry open the last box and shear through Dracula's throat at the same instant Quincey Morris strikes the heart.

Appearance

A large, heavy, forward-curving kukri knife with a broad sharpened blade, carried openly at Jonathan's side and honed during the pursuit.

Role

The kukri is Jonathan's chosen mortal weapon, translating his restored resolve into both the near-success at Piccadilly and the final killing stroke.

Relationships

Jonathan Harker — Jonathan Harker carries, sharpens, and wields the blade with increasingly cold purpose.
Count Dracula — It first cuts Count Dracula's clothes and finally severs his throat before sunset.
