Story so far

Royal Charter Energy — RCE — is the Earth corporation granted a UN charter giving it legal ownership of the world it calls New Terra and the colonists call Ilus. Its heavy-lift operation requires a proper landing pad, which the corporation hired the squatter-colonists themselves to build over their original landing site — an act Basia Merton experiences as being erased from history. RCE is now arriving in force aboard the Edward Israel: a provisional governor, a corporate security team, and science and technical staff, 'a whole new government.' Its shuttle, dropping ahead of schedule, is the target crippled by Basia's sabotage bombs.
