The amphibious mudskipper species that runs Borant's crawl, represented at the end by Loita and Zev.
The kua-tin close out the fourth floor in two very different forms. Zev has been shipped off for reeducation, a punishment Loita describes as never taking long, especially on the weak-minded. Loita herself, taller and thinner than Zev, arrives without a deep-diver suit, breathing through a rebreather collar that sprays water when she speaks and standing in a puddle of brackish water.
Carl has concluded that symbology is important to the mudskippers, and therefore important to the crawl and to the floors ahead, which is why he is adding a symbols section to the Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook. Odette treats the species with open contempt, calling Loita a slime-covered fish stick and threatening to fry and batter her, while also mentioning she knew Loita's grandmother, who was apparently far less high-strung.
Small amphibious mudskipper humanoids with fish-like necks, requiring water via deep-diver suits or rebreather collars, and leaving puddles wherever they stand.
The species operating Borant's dungeon administration and PR apparatus.
