Borant Corporation

Borant

Dungeon operator bleeding credits over Carl's survival, appealing the AI's fifty-to-one odds and tightening information control.

Story so far

Borant took a serious financial hit when Carl survived his Death Challenge!. According to Odette, the system AI opened Carl's general survival odds at fifty to one and adjusted the spread far too slowly as bets poured in; Borant has filed an appeal citing that sluggishness, and if it fails there is nothing they can do. Nobody yet knows how much they lost, but it has to be significant.

The corporation's response is control. Through Loita it has installed a permanent admin at every interview, banned refreshments on the pretext that some crawlers were receiving illegal buffs from them, and blurred the fifth-floor preview video so the crawlers cannot see it. Borant also ran a paid public vote to choose the fifth floor's theme, the winner of which Odette knows but refuses to reveal, offering only that she is glad the team has all those crafting tables.

Role

Owner and operator of the crawl, now losing money and clamping down on information.
