Story so far
Blood and Ink Elementals are the short-lived minions Tsarina Signet summons via her Ink Marauder blood magic — her living-tattoo monsters given form by Heather's sacrificial blood. Powered by Heather's potent blood, she raised her full retinue (~thirty) at reduced longevity for extra strength. Despite towering sizes (a floating head ~10 feet, a three-headed saber ogre, moray eels that spit lightning, a hammerhead shark, an octopus, and a three-story sea serpent), they are literally two-dimensional — deep-red outlines filled with translucent onion-skin, blank on the back, seemingly punch-through-able, yet they hit like plywood and wield devastating area, water, and lightning attacks.
They smashed the circus defenders and battlements with ease, though the big top's ancient protective magic repelled even the sea serpent's water blast. The lead ogre talks ('Follow or you get the smash').
Appearance
Enormous but flat paper-cutout monsters — deep-red outlines with translucent wax-paper/onion-skin interiors, blank-backed, moving and roaring only within their drawn plane; forms include a three-headed saber ogre, sea serpents, eels, sharks, an octopus, and a floating head.
Role
Signet's summoned army — the muscle of her nightly assault on the circus.
