Crawler Tin's observation: the gods are worn like clothes, and clothes can be taken off.
The last note in the Cookbook's deity section is Crawler Tin's, from the 21st edition, and Carl files it away as interesting but useless for now. Tin has noticed something curious: the gods and goddesses are Soul Armor. When the aliens inhabit the bodies of the gods they do it the way the Intellect Hunters, the Scree and the Valtay Corporation do — the aliens are wearing the gods like clothes.
Which means that in theory they can be removed with a successful cast of any spell designed to remove biological armor, such as Take That Shit Off or Laundry Day. You would have to defeat the invulnerability first, of course, and it would not hurt the gods themselves, who would revert to their programming or natural state — and nobody knows what happens to the drivers. But if you need a god to do your bidding, Tin suggests, it may be worth shedding it of its off-world influence first, because the aliens are quite unpredictable in their manner.
The mechanic that reframes every god in the dungeon as a driver in a costume.
