A genial UN surveillance analyst in Atlanta who relays the live Ganymede reports on Holden to Avasarala.
Ameer is a UN priority-surveillance analyst, now working out of Atlanta, with a long friendly rapport with Avasarala — the only one who calls her "miss." Working late, he flags the standing order on Holden and feeds her the unfolding Ganymede reports: Holden's rendezvous with the botanist Prax, his arming-up with Pinkwater mercs, the forced entry into a hidden door, and the ensuing firefight — all hampered by a 41-minute comm lag. He transmits her order to seize the whole group.
A middle-aged man with ill-advised mutton-chop whiskers, a toothy grin, and brown-black eyes.
