Laconia

Laconia system

The hidden colony system beyond its Ring becomes an unseen source of ships, advisers, and unsettling leverage over Medina.

Story so far

Laconia is the destination of Winston Duarte's breakaway Martian fleet, which crossed its Ring with stolen protomolecule assets before the present war. The location itself remains unseen from Medina, and its larger project is not known to the workers who talk about it.

Its growing capacity becomes visible when the Proteus reaches Medina Station from the Laconia Ring, the first ship to enter Ring space without having left through it. Duarte's advisers and equipment make Laconia no longer merely a distant rumor; it is a source of military resources whose aid could protect Medina or place it under a new kind of control.

Appearance

An unseen colony system beyond its Ring gate; only ships, equipment, and the guarded professionalism of its arrivals have been observed here.

Role

Laconia is the concealed power base from which Duarte begins to influence the war's strategic crossroads.

Relationships

[[Winston Duarte]] — Duarte's secret fleet and authority are based there.
