Ganymede Station

Ganymede

Under nominal corporate neutrality, Ganymede becomes an increasingly visible Free Navy occupation whose fear enters labs, homes, markets, and family routines.

Story so far

Ganymede is a food-producing Jovian station where Praxidike Meng and his family live, and whose official Pinkwater neutrality has increasingly yielded to Free Navy influence. Soldiers, armored positions, missing people, and security claims now transform public life while the research complex is redirected from long-term development to feeding warships.

The station's occupation becomes intimate when security removes Prax from a hydroponics lab to question him about the leaked Hy1810 yeast. Co-workers avert their eyes rather than risk being seen watching, and Djuna assumes he may never return. His quick release does not make the event harmless; it demonstrates the system by which cameras, corporate authority, and armed men can make anyone disappear while leaving everyone else afraid to know why.

Appearance

A vast enclosed Jovian agricultural station with tube transit, markets, public corridors, hydroponic labs of black-leaved plants and pale roots, and increasingly common Free Navy fortifications.

Role

Ganymede is a nominally neutral food center whose occupation shows the Free Navy's war being enforced through civilian institutions and fear.

Relationships

[[Praxidike Meng]] — It is his home, research base, and the place where his family learns what political power can do to an ordinary worker.
[[Free Navy]] — Its soldiers and allied security apparatus have turned the station's claimed neutrality into a growing fiction.
[[Hy1810]] — The yeast's research and leak make the local labs a focus of occupation scrutiny.
