The Collective

Story so far

The collective is a traveling group of seven technologists, a group marriage with five children of varying ages, who move from work contract to work contract doing mineral research and technology development. Contracted to Tlacey Excavations, one of the smaller Umro subcontractors on RaviHyral, they used their spare time to develop a new detection system for strange synthetics, the elements left behind by alien civilizations. Abruptly terminated, they had the most recent version of their work deleted from their devices and stolen.

Their complaint to Umro stalled, and now Tlacey dangles the files' return in exchange for repaying their signing bonus in person on RaviHyral. Divided and frightened, they send Rami, Tapan, and Maro to hire the disguised Murderbot as protection.

Appearance

A knot of nervous young technologists in unmarked work clothes, with several children among the wider group left on the transit ring.

Role

Murderbot's chosen clients; ordinary vulnerable people whose plight becomes the vehicle for its return to RaviHyral.
