The predatory employer whose trap for Tapan ends with her killed by her own guards' fire.
Tlacey springs her real trap by having Port Authority pull Tapan from her shuttle and bring her aboard Tlacey's private vessel, intending to keep Murderbot and dispose of the rest. She has the ComfortUnit offer Murderbot a Combat Override Module, confident it will make the SecUnit her puppet, and gloats over the captured 'mouthy bot.' The bluff collapses the moment ART seizes the shuttle and cuts her feed: Murderbot turns on her guards, and Tlacey, exposed as merely cruel and unprepared, tries to bargain and then to grab a weapon. Forced to order the ComfortUnit to obey Murderbot, she is used as a living shield when a panicked bodyguard opens fire, and dies as her own people's shots strike her back while Murderbot crushes her windpipe.
She never grasped that fucking with a SecUnit was a fatal mistake.
An augmented-human woman, composed and commanding until fear overtakes her in her final moments.
The book's antagonist, undone in the shuttle by the very SecUnit she tried to enslave.
