Bob

An older Cerisier technician and Ren's fellow lover remains under investigation after the disappearance, though his teammates insist he is gentle.

Story so far

Bob is one of the four technicians originally assigned to Melba Koh aboard the Cerisier, decades older than his supposed chief. He remains aboard the support ship while Melba, Stanni, and Soledad service the Thomas Prince.

After Ren disappears, security learns that both Bob and Ren were involved with a man on the medical team. Because disappearances in closed ships are commonly domestic, Bob becomes part of the ordinary suspect pool even while the crew also fears the uncanny influence of The Ring. Melba, who knows exactly what happened, insists that Bob would never hurt anyone; Soledad agrees that he is a good man and that everyone involved understood the relationship.

Appearance

Bob is an adult male electrochemical technician decades older than twenty-four-year-old Melba. His build, hair, complexion, facial features, and clothing are not otherwise described.

Role

Bob is a member of Melba's team and an innocent suspect whose open relationship with Ren gives security a conventional explanation to investigate.

Relationships

Ren — He and Ren were both romantically involved with the same medical-team man in an apparently known and consensual arrangement.
Clarissa Mao — Melba Koh leaves him under suspicion while privately knowing he is innocent of Ren's death.
Soledad — Soledad defends him as a good man who would not harm Ren.
