Story so far
Clarissa wakes under gravity in a crowded Behemoth medical ward, drifting between dreams of hiding Ren inside herself and relief that everyone knows the truth. Tilly and Anna visit; Cortez does not. Anna asks the reluctant Rocinante crew to transport Clarissa safely to trial on Luna. Holden refuses until Anna offers the impossible price: ownership of the ship free and clear. Tilly immediately agrees to buy it from Mars through Robert and gift the rights to Holden. Clarissa offers the hand once dedicated to his destruction; Holden takes it, and they meet as strangers.
A yellow medical restraint cuff will sedate her if any crew member signals, if her combat-gland products appear, or if she leaves crew decks. She transfers during the memorial for Bull, Sam, and the other dead. Alex describes the moment between fear and coming greed, while Martian survey teams prepare to remain among the gates. Aboard the Rocinante, Clarissa receives a private bunk and old military jumpsuit but initially lives like baggage awaiting prison. The crew's coffee-and-beer argument ignores her until Naomi jokes about appreciating another woman aboard. Inclusion, however small, makes her cry.
Holden cannot offer friendship or receive the apology she cannot yet form. Amos offers something more practical. He admires the damage her bare hands did, discusses its repair, and names her Peaches. He reprograms the restraint enough to bring her into the machine shop. At the hatch she crumpled during the attack, Clarissa helps diagnose a binding actuator and discovers that fixing something feels good. Facing five weeks to Luna and likely lifelong imprisonment, she begins existing without father, sister, disguise, or vengeance as her defining story.
