Nono anchors Anna from Moscow through messages, videos, remembered humor, and the promise of an embrace still a month away.
Nono keeps the promise she made on Europa, taking Nami home to Earth while Anna Volovodov follows her calling into the Ring. In Moscow she sends videos of their daughter growing enormous and crawling confidently in full gravity. Her familiar judgment—that Anna never asks permission and only apologizes later—remains so vivid that Anna hears it while recording her reply and laughs through tears.
Anna sends love, promises contrition, and confesses that the Thomas Prince will still take a month to reach home. She hugs a pillow as a substitute for both wife and child. Nono's physical absence thus defines the epilogue's homesickness, while her continuing presence in Anna's mind gives the pastor a home and moral equal to return to after the stars have changed.
Nono is a Ugandan woman with coffee-colored skin and a broad, flat nose. Her build and hair remain undescribed; Anna remembers above all the warmth of being held by her.
Nono is Anna's distant domestic anchor, sustaining family life and holding a place for accountability, humor, and reunion after the expedition.
