Mihn Sterling

Doctor Sterling · Dr. Mihn Sterling · Bennie Cortland-Mapu's second

The Behemoth doctor diagnoses Bull's crushed spine, argues for coma, and protects her patient with dry authority when Ashford tears him from the bed.

Story so far

Mihn Sterling is a physician in the Behemoth medical service and Bennie Cortland-Mapu's second. She explains that Carlos “Bull” de Baca has a crushed spinal cord complicated by pooled fluid and bone shards. Zero gravity makes correct regrowth uncertain, and scarce nootropics are needed for more immediately dying patients. Her recommendation is a medical coma until gravity and evacuation permit safer repair.

Sterling attends Ashford's confrontation in Bull's room with an unreadable expression. When the captain attacks the paralyzed patient and tears loose restraints and catheters, she rapidly gathers Bull's insensible legs, straps him down, and asks that no one assault the patient with the crushed spinal cord because it makes her uncomfortable. She repairs the medical damage after Ashford's arrest and leaves command politics to Pa and Bull.

Appearance

Sterling is an adult woman in a Behemoth doctor's uniform. Her age, build, hair, complexion, and facial details are not described; her gaze is direct and her movements professionally efficient in free fall.

Role

Sterling is Bull's principal physician and the clinical authority defending his damaged body even when he rejects her best treatment advice.
