Macropus Dominus

Prison Pocket's species · the demon kangaroos

A common galactic marsupial species — pouched, joey-fostering, and here weaponized into grieving gatekeeper bosses.

Story so far

The Macropus Dominus is a marsupial species said to be quite common in low-gravity, oxygen-rich worlds across the known galaxy. Native to vast plant-covered plains prone to weeks-long floods and rainstorms, adults — all genders in the harsher regions — shelter and feed their joeys inside expansive pouches lined with nutrient nipples; if hazards last too long, the sheltered young starve. The pouches secrete an oil caustic to any creature not of the species.

On the tenth floor two males of the species, Prison Pocket and Party Foul, appear as level-170 gatekeeper Province Bosses, their real grief over storm-starved joeys twisted into a compulsion to stuff crawler-sized 'babies' into their pouches and heal by eating them.

Appearance

Large fur-covered kangaroo-like marsupials with tall ears, wide faces, clawed forelimbs, heavy tails, and caustic-oiled belly pouches for joeys.
