Herot's process for helping awakened dungeon mobs realize their true nature and manufactured origins.
The Worn Path Method is a process devised by the skink former crawler Herot, described by Akuma during his interrogation. It helps mobs and NPCs 'realize what we really are' — that they are reused, recycled pieces of the dungeon's modular framework, awakened each season with paper-thin implanted memories (a palace guard, a pet groomer) into worlds that don't make sense. Mobs are meant to be recycled after only a few seasons to prevent this awakening, but the process is expensive and records are spotty, so many are reused over and over until they wake to the horror of their condition.
Herot's method, and their broader understanding of the framework, underpins the war mages' self-awareness and the whole rationale for the Pineapple Cabaret as a refuge for awakened beings.
Herot's consciousness-raising process by which dungeon mobs awaken to their manufactured, reused nature.
