The Order

book of Order

The Order is the hidden procedural manual for managing silo disasters and people, including warfare after a failed cleaning.

Story so far

The Order fills the remainder of the enormous book after The Pact. Its cross-references connect earthquake damage with airlock breaches and sabotaged columns, and it covers air handling and asphyxiation. Near its beginning, page seventy-two directs the reader to prepare for war after a failed cleaning.

Bernard Holland orders Lukas to study its sections on insurrections and uprisings, though Lukas initially prefers other reading. Bulleted procedures, interlinked references, population graphs, and tables sit alongside chapters on persuasion, mind control, and fear during upbringing. Lukas later presents adherence to the Order as justification for the handling of the lower-level conflict.

Explaining the danger he attributes to people like George, Bernard directs Lukas to section thirteen and says the Order teaches that ideas are contagious.
