Peter Nichols

Dr. Nichols

Peter Nichols is Juliette’s doctor father, long separated from her daily life and now the first person she intends to visit.

Story so far

Peter Nichols works at the nursery on twenty. His son was born prematurely while Peter was an intern at the old mid-level nursery and did not survive. Peter later concealed his wife’s suicide by writing her death certificate himself; he said the statute of limitations on that false certificate had expired. He approved Juliette’s early transfer to Mechanical, expecting her to come back, but initially told Jahns that he had not seen her since her apprenticeship began twenty years earlier. Occasional news reached him through a colleague in the deep nursery.

Juliette’s childhood memories include riding on his shoulders to the bazaar and his asking the actress who played her namesake for an autograph. More recently, Peter examined Jahns during her collapse at the nursery. Juliette addressed a silent nighttime visitor as her father, but the man left without replying; she later regretted passing his nursery without stopping. She now plans to visit Peter before heading down to her friends.
