Quasar's departed wife, invoked by Tempest as the definitive verdict on her uncle's character.
Nova is Quasar's ex-wife and Tempest's aunt. She appears in the record only as a weapon: when Quasar's crudeness finally exhausts his niece, Tempest snorts that "it's no wonder Aunt Nova left you." Quasar's counter — that he might go and father a better child on Tempest's mother — is the escalation that ends that particular exchange.
Nothing is said about who she was, where she went, or why beyond the obvious. She is simply the fact of the matter in Quasar's household, and Tempest knows exactly where to press.
Never described; known only as a nullian woman who married Quasar and then did not stay.
Quasar's ex-wife, mentioned as the family's shorthand for his failings.
