Peeling Phase

The Peeling

Faction Wars phase in which every team fights alone and losing warlords kills all their NPCs.

Story so far

The new ruleset is blunt: it is every team for themselves. If the crawlers win, all the NPCs die; if the NPCs win, the crawlers die. Carl recognizes immediately what a huge problem this creates for cooperation.

The Peeling phase rules also dictate the exact failure condition Carl is racing: if both Juice Box and Ferdinand fall, Team Retribution does not automatically lose — War Mage Rebellion would still have to hold The Reaver Castle for six hours — but every existing NPC on Team Retribution drops dead instantly, leaving nobody able to storm the castle. The remaining teams are The Princess Posse, Team Retribution, The Dream, The Reavers and the War Mage Rebellion, with 69 castles left standing.

Role

The governing ruleset of the chapter's battle, setting the clocks and the win conditions.
