Justice Light's Neural Implants

Neural Implants · Seismic Monitor · Seismic Sensors

Built-in cybernetics that let Justice Light read body temperature, weight, hormones, and ground movement in real time.

Story so far

Justice Light carries built-in neural implants that make his paranoia practical. They flagged the swap of Sick-Ass Worgo for Jessica the moment it happened, registering a subtle change in body temperature and weight, and — decisively — the total absence of hormonal emissions from a creature that should have had them.

The same implant suite includes a seismic monitor. It warned him of activity beneath the tunnel floor while he was talking to Juice Box, letting him track the dwarven Digger positioned to kill him. By rerouting power he could ratchet up the sensor's sensitivity until he could feel the machine sitting idle with its engine still running, then feel the moment it ticked off idle and readied to surge upward, and finally the moment it kicked fully on and moved away. They are non-game cybernetics of the kind former crawlers acquire outside the dungeon, and they are why he keeps careful, careful track of everyone around him at all times.

Appearance

Concealed beneath his plumage; no external presentation beyond the awareness they grant him.

Role

The sensory edge that lets a one-winged bird detect shapeshifters and tunneling machines before they strike.

Relationships

Justice Light — Built into him; the foundation of his situational awareness.
Jessica — Detected her impersonation immediately via biometric mismatch.
Diggers — Tracked the machine beneath him through seismic sensing.
