Hitchhiker

Story so far

Hitchhiker is one of the achievements in Carl's The Ceasefire backlog that grants a random non-box item, and he explicitly calls it ominous. It fired for getting his tattoo — the mark Carl acquired during the previous floor's events — but it gives him no information whatsoever about the nature of the tattoo itself. Instead he receives a bottle of unenchanted, medicated lotion to "take care of" the wound.

The name is the unsettling part: something is riding along with him, and the game is telling him so while withholding every useful detail. It sits alongside the equally unexplained Used Pet! achievement as a sign that things are happening to Carl that neither he nor a straightforward reading of the notifications can account for.

Role
