Warlord Mark

the mark · marking a warlord

A mark placed on an enemy warlord at full health that reveals their highest stat and takes thirty seconds to form.

Story so far

Applying the mark requires the target be at 100% health, a rule Empress D'Nadia exploits by cutting herself with a hidden knife so she can never be topped off. Once the Clockwork Triplicate dinos take the knife-holding tentacle off her, Carl uses a Heal Scroll and lands the mark with the Ring of Divine Suffering the instant her bar fills — she bites her own hand to re-injure herself, but too late.

The system confirms the marking of Warlord Empress D'Nadia of the Prism, names Intelligence as her highest stat, and warns the mark will form in thirty seconds. Carl instructs Princess Donut to keep the empress's health suppressed and occupied through the countdown, and the notification that the thirty seconds have passed and the mark fully formed lands at the exact moment Carl is deciding whether to kill her himself.

Role

The mechanic that locks in a warlord's capture and exposes their strongest attribute.
