Fragging Incident

Accidental Kill Ruling

A System kill-credit ruling for deaths caused by a faction's own soldiers rather than an enemy.

Story so far

When the Warlord Hortense Leadership Unit is destroyed, the System declines to award the kill to any crawler team. Instead it announces that credit "has been ruled as either accidental or a fragging incident, which would be funny as shit," with an investigation pending — a rare admission that the System itself does not know who did it.

Carl explains to Imani and Donut that a fragging incident means one of their own soldiers did something, and Imani confirms the blast detonated in the middle of the enemy's own formation. Because the ruling makes the Operatic Collective's defeat self-contained, the System awards their assets to the nearest ally rather than to a victor.

Role

It determines that no crawler earns kill credit, and routes the defeated faction's assets to its nearest ally.
