Garret
Ren deliberately kills Garret so the nearly immortal pet resets to level one and can bond with Carl.
Story so far
Garret presses against Ren as she explains her final decision, visibly understanding enough to fear separation. Ren promises that Carl will feed and care for him, then uses Sylvan crystal to trigger one of his specific weaknesses.
The Tummy Acher dies instantly, shrinks, loses his name, and returns as a tiny round level-one creature with two stubby legs, one visible tooth, and no active bond. Ren places him unconscious in a carrier and gives him to Carl.
His new fifth weakness is Reaper Gaze. Carl must learn what that means, avoid all five weaknesses, and establish a new bond through repeated safe feeding.
Appearance
A tiny round one-toothed creature asleep inside a pet carrier after shrinking from a massive tank.
Role
Garret survives Ren's chosen death by becoming Carl's vulnerable unbonded pet and future tank.
