Northern Army

the enemy's northern army · the northern host

Tens of thousands of enemy troops massing half a kilometer north of the crawler camp before the siege.

Story so far

The enemy's northern army fills the horizon half a kilometer from the edge of camp: orcs, slimes, more Reavers, mounted elves on zebras, Basher Trolls, and lots of Gnolls. All of the Operatics appear to be present along with a healthy mix of everyone else—tens of thousands, far more than the crawlers can field even with backups arriving by the moment. Tipid sums it up as "we're absolutely fucked," and the virtual sunrise makes the whole mass glint like a blade. No wonder Florin was forced to fall back.

The host is digging in and setting up siege weapons rather than charging, and most everyone expects it to wait for its position to be built and its armor to arrive. The Bone Clan provides only about a thousand of the visible troops. Crawler trebuchets are already dropping rocks on them but enemy shields keep the fire mostly at bay, while Carl's plan is to enrage King Rust into attacking before his backup gets there.

Appearance

A horizon-filling mass of mixed troops glinting under a rising virtual sun, entrenching behind shields with siege engines going up.

Role

The main assault force besieging the crawler castle from the north.

Relationships
