Story so far
Taranis appears in this chapter only through Eris's description and demands. Her system entry identifies her as the half-sister of Taranis, mother to nobody, lover of parties and chaos, and the Ascendency's worst gossip.
When Eris made her pitch to Carl, offering to name him Champion as Nekhebit had just done for Princess Donut, she attached a price: he would have to kill all three of Taranis, Emberus, and Hellik. She promised to help.
