Namico

The Changeling

Dead changeling peeled open and surgically fused to Architect Houston, from whose corpse something else emerges.

Story so far

Namico's blank corpse hangs upside down over the third table of the Surgical Theater, clutched in the arms of The Grease Monkey, offset and facing the wrong direction from the form below with only their torsos overlapping. He was peeled open — a similar but less thorough fate than Zeynep's — and his cause of death also reads "Died on the Surgical Table."

The machine is physically connecting him to Architect Houston, nerve by nerve, things passing out of the changeling and into the Viceroy and back. Houston casts a spell at the hanging corpse and it begins to thrash despite being dead; as the fusion completes it starts to vibrate, then roots or tentacles grow from its lower half and vines climb the machine. Houston dies exultant, certain he has found The Beautiful Place and that it is really there, not just an avatar. The screaming, black-pulsing thing that Namico's body becomes then meets Carl mid-phase and briefly wears the face of Li Jun.

Appearance
