The Scolopendra Warning

evacuation announcement

Planetwide messages tell Scolopendra Club guests to evacuate, then mock them for having nowhere to go.

Story so far

The instant Scolopendra stirred, planetwide messages advised all current guests of the Scolopendra Club to evacuate immediately — followed by a sneering "Oh, I'm sorry. There's nowhere for you to go?"

The messages then gave up the game on two floors at once. The sixteenth floor, supposedly titled "Agony Mirrors," is actually a giant empty room with a single non-magical mirror plucked from an abandoned Motel 6 in Boise, Idaho — and because it sits outside Scolopendra's layers, it is the only safe place from the coming attacks. Getting there means crossing the seventeenth floor, "The Backstage Death Maze," which was currently being built and running. The announcement closed with "Good luck." Immediately afterward, the system confirmed Scolopendra had awakened.

Role

The announcement that reveals the sixteenth floor's true nature and turns the dungeon's lower levels into a race.
