Donut Holes
The band whose magical shirt Louis still wears, unbroken but blood-stained through his chest surgery.
Story so far
The Donut Holes make no appearance here, but their merchandise does. When Carl looks at Louis's chest, the scar has healed away and the Donut Holes T-Shirt is still there — it is magical, so it would not break — but it is now stained with blood.
It is a quiet reminder of what has already been cut out of Louis and what is about to be cut into him again.
Role
Source of the magical shirt that survives Louis's surgery intact.
