Brooks

A crawler from Rosetta's crawl whose casual murder by Rust behind the Scolopendra Club glass broke her forever.

Story so far

Brooks was a crawler in Rosetta's crawl whom she never actually knew. When her Faction Wars ended and the orcs made the transfer to the Scolopendra Club, they stood on the other side of the glass mocking the crawlers who had given everything to survive, and took the librarians and other NPCs. Brooks tried to stop it, raging and casting spell after spell at the portal screen while the orcs laughed and laughed.

King Rust, still laughing, stepped back through the portal, lassoed Brooks with his whip and pulled him into the glass, which cut him right in half. He died immediately. Rosetta had already watched hundreds and hundreds die by that point, yet that single death broke her in a way she does not understand — and it drove everything she did afterward, from her documentary The Other Side of the Glass to her return to the dungeon and her killing of Rust.

The martyr whose death at the glass became the founding wound of Rosetta's life's work.
