The Night Wyrm, leader of the Guild of Suffering, revealed as the Desperado Club's new management.
Clarabelle names Hamed as the club's new manager, describing a paranoid operator who has banned all crawlers, filled the Desperado Club with more security than she has ever seen, and travels with a slew of bodyguards who are neither NPCs nor quite former crawlers. She had every surviving cretin and sai guard airlocked and sold to the mercenary markets on his orders, and reports he has asked not to be disturbed.
Carl recognizes the name instantly and hides his reaction. Hamed is the real name of the Night Wyrm, leader of the Guild of Suffering, husband to the late Astrid whom Carl and Katia assassinated, and father to the strippers Damascus Steel and Anaconda - both of whom are supposedly still somewhere inside the club, hunting their own father. Hearing the name makes Carl's elbow throb and brings back Astrid's dying words: I was almost done.
