Story so far
The chapter opens in Orren's office, its desk split by a crack that Orren runs a gloved hand along as he confesses that history will remember him as the one who let the apocalypse happen.
Carl and Donut are there when he asks whether Carl helped break The AI containment, and Orren tells them it is not appropriate for them to be present, imploring them not to discuss the conversation outside this room. He finally cuts things short, teleports away with a crack, and a moment later Carl and Donut are back at base. Damascus Steel apparently slips in and out of the room unnoticed while they talk.
