Story so far
As Carl begins to say his conclusion out loud, a "Please Wait..." prompt appears and everything freezes so the Dungeon AI can cancel Glory's Emergency Ejection sequence and deliver its warning.
Carl notes this freeze was different from the usual: normally when everything stops, nobody else is aware of it, but this time Katia calls from the Royal Chariot asking whether anyone else felt the stutter and what Carl had been saying. The AI, Carl observes, is surlier than normal.
