Worship Light Tendrils

Story so far

Worshiping a deity creates a physical link between adherent and immortal: a whisker-thin connection of invisible light that can penetrate almost any substance or spell. A Bijou fairy grabs a tendril from the god and attaches it to the new worshiper's heart, a process taking about two minutes.

The line is never direct. It runs god to strongest temple on the floor, then temple to worshiper — and from the third floor through The Eleventh Floor that strongest temple is almost always inside Club Vanquisher. As an adherent moves, the Bijou grow further tendrils to other temples and sometimes to other worshipers. Normally this quirk has no impact on anything, but combined with Travel the Path and Welcome Home it becomes a physical road an adherent can ride, and its upward flight is the tell Edgar watches for.

Appearance

Invisible whisker-thin threads of light, seen by almost no one, passing through nearly any material.

Role

The routing system whose indirect path through Club Vanquisher makes the Sultana's escape possible.
