Scolopendra

The colossal centipede whose lair the broken Nothing drains into; she stirs, then wakes, and the whole planet is warned.

Story so far

When Justice Light broke The Nothing, one of the three places it began draining into was Scolopendra's Lair. The system reported first that Scolopendra stirred, then, moments later, that Scolopendra had awakened.

Planetwide messages immediately advised all current guests of the Scolopendra Club to evacuate — then mocked them for having nowhere to go. The only stated refuge was the sixteenth floor, revealed to be a giant empty room containing a single non-magical mirror taken from an abandoned Motel 6 in Boise, Idaho, and sitting outside Scolopendra's layers; reaching it means crossing the seventeenth floor, "The Backstage Death Maze," which was still being built and running as the announcement went out.

Appearance

Unseen in this chapter; known only as something vast enough that her lair holds layers and the entire planet is told to run from her waking.

Role

The sleeping horror at the base of the dungeon, awakened as a direct consequence of the Nothing being broken.

Relationships

The Nothing — Its draining into her lair wakes her.
Scolopendra Club — The club named for her, whose guests are told to evacuate.
Justice Light — His trap is the cause of her awakening.
