Story so far

Prepotente explains the loophole that doomed Li Na: Rust's Harem were pulled into the ball by Donut's War Crime spell, but because they were Non-Combatant NPCs they were not captured as enemies by it.

That left them still classified as outworlders, which is exactly why Li Na was permitted to mark them. When the accompanying Battle Formation spell was dispelled, the uncaptured harem women simply fled into Larracos and, for three of them, off the floor entirely.
