Horatio

Crawler trapped with Tipid who was left to die because the escape key only worked once.

Story so far

Horatio was one of the crawlers trapped with Tipid and Cassio while The Illusionists cast their spells around them. He had a wife and an older child who had both survived their own crawl and taken a deal at the end of the tenth floor; Horatio held on past that point hoping to negotiate something better, to build a life for them once he got out.

When Tipid's Key was found, its jewel had only one charge. Tipid used it on himself. Horatio never understood what was happening or why he was being left, and his cries followed Tipid through the door — a sound Tipid still hears in the Zero Zone years later. Everyone told Tipid it was okay to be selfish when saving yourself. Tipid, who had nobody waiting, has never been able to believe it.
