Story so far
Fang appears only in Epitome Tagg's account of what went wrong. Explaining why he still lacks a body, Tagg tells Carl that they would finish the procedure at the Reaver Castle — Fang was being an ass and would not allow the brain implant until he, too, was free.
That delay is the reason Tagg is still riding Louis's heart and lungs instead of walking around in a grown body, and it is the reason his entire bargaining position now rests on a castle that has already been nuked.
Role
The obstruction who stalled Tagg's brain implant, indirectly causing the hostage situation.
