Flint

The cynical Dromedarian patrol-camel raising the changeling orphan Skarn, quoted secondhand for his bitter anti-gnome sayings.

Story so far

Flint is the Dromedarian who took in the orphaned changeling Skarn after the Dirigible Gnomes bombed his village, and who is out on Waster Patrol until after dark. Never seen directly this chapter, he's a constant offstage presence through Skarn's parroted quotes: that gnomes are "short little assholes" who deserve trampling, that anyone who uses a bomb is a coward, and that orphans survive by taking money from people dumber than them — hence teaching Skarn to charge a gold coin for the telescope and to copy the shapes of strangers.

Appearance

An adult Dromedarian on patrol duty; not seen directly this chapter.

Role

Skarn's guardian and a Hump Town patrol soldier, a cynical offstage voice of the town's hardship.

Relationships

Skarn — The changeling orphan he raises and drills in survival cynicism.
Waster Patrol — The Dromedarian force he rides out with after each storm.
