A dead 15th-edition cookbook author whose entries warn, through his own doom, to stay away from the game's gods.
Sinjin is the crawler-author of the 15th edition of the Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook, whose cautionary entries Carl reads as an interstitial. Sinjin worshipped the goddess Kuraokami — sponsored by a petty male soother who treated her worship as devotion to himself — and rails at the god system: worship grants a few boons but binds you to arbitrary daily rituals (for him, touching every kill with ice), with escalating penalties for missed days and an automatic 'smite' for leaving the faith. His bored, chatty goddess wouldn't stop messaging him; when he told the soother to 'fuck off,' the retaliation began.
A note appended by 17th-edition author Azin records that this was Sinjin's last entry — a party member smote by the god had his blindness debuff made permanent — ending with the warning 'Stay the fuck away from gods,' grimly apt as Carl deals with Emberus.
Never physically described; known only through his cookbook entries.
