Ring of Water Breathing
A glowing blue ring that lets the wearer breathe underwater indefinitely — at the cost of gills, slimy skin, and charisma.
Story so far
The Ring of Water Breathing is the Gold 'I'm Wet' box prize Carl, Katia Grim, and Tran each receive after the drowned Akula ordeal — a glowing blue, sparkling ring Carl wishes he'd had all along. Worn, it lets the bearer breathe underwater and on land alike (making them an amphibian), replacing the constant burn of water-breathing scrolls. But Mordecai warns not to wear it except when actually diving: it grows gills, turns the skin slimy, and carries a -1 Charisma penalty (its description needling that amphibians swallow their prey whole).
Appearance
A glowing, twinkling blue ring dusted with little sparkles.
Role
A permanent underwater-breathing ring, a costly convenience over scrolls.
