Carl's magically-guided anti-air missiles, boosted to full-dynamite payload but still too short-ranged to reach the Wasteland.
Carl's guided anti-air rockets — bought to hit low-flying gnomish planes — get a Mordecai-assisted overhaul at his level-four sapper's table. By recycling impact hob-lobbers to simplify the triggering device, Carl frees room to upgrade each warhead from a quarter-stick to a full stick of hobgoblin dynamite, enough to kill almost any mob, and keeps the magical *guided* seeker upgrade. He also attempts a two-stage design (a small charge drops the spent fin so a second stage relights and coasts farther) — but the prototype detonates prematurely, short of Ruckus.
Falling back on single-stage guided missiles, Carl locks three onto the boss and blows off its wing, destroying it. The catch remains: even boosted, the rockets climb only a little over a mile, while the Wasteland drops its bombs from three miles up — so they can't down the flying gnome castle from the ground.
