Story so far
Carl sacrifices the first strength ring he obtained in the dungeon as the base for an Emberus enchantment. To most observers and non-worshippers it still appears to be an enchanted Strength ring.
When functioning, it removes the harmful output of most health-seeping and disease-based debuffs without cleansing the debuff itself. It numbs some other conditions, but too many active effects can mute or overheat it.
Only an Emberus worshipper may safely wear it. A non-worshipper receives every debuff suffered by anyone within fifty meters. Church expulsion while wearing it also activates the curse, and debt prevents sale.
Appearance
A familiar plain strength ring whose hidden surface glows with twin Emberus flames and disease-suppression runes.
Role
The ring lets Carl carry Super Spreader's disease engine without suffering its intended health loss.
